Ratih Realized Her Dream

After graduation in the beginning 2015, Ratih Kartika, S.Pd., a graduate of Accounting Education International Class Faculty of Economics (FE) UNY then managed to realize one of her dreams: traveling to Japan. Ratih became one of 20 young people from all over Indonesia eligible for the program Japan Cultural Camp in Kyoto, Osaka, December 7 to 12, 2015. Besides visiting historical places in Kyoto and Osaka, Ratih and Cultural Camp group had the opportunity to demonstrate in front of the students of Indonesian culture Indonesian Department at Kyoto Sangyo University.

Ratih had got a chance to be one of presenters in the International Symposium on Business and Social Sciences (ISBSS) in Sapporo in mid-year, but it was canceled for some reason at the time. "Apparently God replaced it with another tremendous opportunity, meeting great people, visiting various places, and learning a lot to from Japan. I did not speak Japanese, so I had to look for sponsorship at that time. However, I have God Almighty Good. Finally I did it!" Said Ratih.

She visited several important objects in Kyoto and Osaka such as Kiyomizu-dera and Golden Temple. In addition, the Japan Cultural Camp participants also visited Kyoto Sangyo Daigaku, a Daigaku, or private university in Kyoto that makes Indonesian as one of the four majors at the faculty besides Korean, Japanese, and Chinese.

"We had the opportunity to learn together, and showed Indonesian culture to students majoring in Indonesian at Kyoto Sangyo University. They were enthusiastic in practising Indonesian they learned," Ratih said.

For Ratih, nothing cannot be realized as long as we keep dreaming, striving, and praying. "Never give up the pursuit of dreams, while we are healthy, capable, and still young," added the owner of Ratu Mendoan Cilacap and founder of “Sedekah Apa Saja” movement. (fadhli)
